I grew up playing tennis and waiting for our next trip to Acapulco. A special weekend treat included drinking a tiny bottle of Chaparrita soda at one of the downtown pebbled streets of Mexico City. Chaparrita later became my nickname (it means shorty).
Fascinated with art and learning, I became an education professional creating engaging and fun experiences for children. I worked with artists, designers, and scientists developing new interactive museums.
I also lived in Playa del Carmen, Mexico; Madrid; Salamanca, Spain, and in 2010, I moved to Arizona. I live in the desert with my husband, two amazing niños that help me pick character names, a dog and three fish.
I'm represented by James McGowan at BookEnds Literary.
Cynthia Harmony is an educational psychologist that writes picture books, chapter books and early readers. She's created exhibits and bilingual learning materials for children and science museums. When not writing, Cynthia can be found in a museum with her kids, dancing to a Latin beat, daydreaming of tacos or planning her next family trip.
